Nov 2013 Re-paint Day

Here's a few before and after pictures of my latest re-paint. Laura and Kim came over for a re-painting and re-stringing day. We had a blast. It's always lots of fun to have Dolly Days. I am so blessed to have special friends like them.

Here is the adorable outfit I received from Winnie in California. She even sent pants because it gets so cold here in Minnesota. I added a little hat from the fall/winter collection I'm working on.

Autumn Swap 2013

Here is the adorable outfit I sent to my swap partner. The pinafore pattern was courtesy of Ted Menton. Thanks Ted! I took a few liberties and fully lined it and added gathers on the sides with cute orange bows. An outfit sure to please for Halloween.

Blondes Have More Fun! A Beautiful Blonde Gets a New Look.

Here is a Beautiful 80's sailing suit girl who has been transformed. She has been repainted with quality artist acrylics. She had been given a boiled perm a few years back so those curls aren't going anywhere. She has a very sweet expression and looks great in her Halloween dress. She will be for sale in my etsy shop. http://www.etsy.com/shop/MaconStreetStudio

A Pretty Brunette With Her New Enhanced Eyes

Here is one of my 80's girls that wanted a new look. I have enhanced her eyes with quality artist paints. She even got a sprinkling of freckles. I love her thick brows. Her original printed eyes are under the paint. She will be for sale in my etsy site http://www.etsy.com/shop/MaconStreetStudio once I have completed her Halloween dress and sandals. I love her determined look.

Simple Sasha Sundress

Here is a Simple A-line Sundress for Sasha. This is a prototype I whipped up yesterday morning before our MN Sasha get together. The silver and white sandals were a jumping off point. I could not find my white bias tape so the hem is unfinished and fringed. It is fully lined and threads secured so the hem won't ravel further. I just love the fabric, but it is a pain to work with. I had a small remnant and maybe enough for one more simple sundress. I may try the other with bias around the neck, arm openings, and hem.

My Dress a Sasha entry takes 2nd Place at the 2013 Sasha Festival

Here are some pictures of my Dress a Sasha entry. I created the complete outfits based on a picture of two adorable children from the early 1900's. This was a labor of love. I had to 1st create the patterns for both outfits. The lace on the dress collar is hand knit and was found at an antique store in Crosby MN. I made tights out of black knee-high women's socks. I even created real leather shoes for the Sasha and toddler. These outfits were challenging but very fun to make. Enjoy!

Summer Sandals 2013

Here in the Studio I have been very busy creating Summer sandals. These are my own designs with the exception of the classic Sasha M style. I am letting the materials guide my creativity. I use all leather in my designs. I strive for quality. To see how they look on the dolls feet check out my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MaconStreetStudio

Sasha Festival Raffle Doll outfit 2013

Here is my latest creation. It is for one of the 2013 Raffle Dolls at Festival. The outfit consists of a wool blend fully lined winter coat and a velvet ear-warmer hat. Real leather shoes with heart cut outs complete the look. I think the theme is 1950's, so even though I was tempted to put bright pink buttons on the coat, I kept in theme and put black buttons.

Sasha Festival 2013 CFA Outfit~ Sweet and Sassy

Here is the outfit I created for the Children's Fund Auction. I've been working on several sewing projects this month and I'm happy to report at least one of them is finally done. The outfit consists of a knit t-shirt with a hand appliqued panda on the front. The skirt is from a wool blend fabric and has elastic in the waistband. The sandals are all leather and match perfectly with the outfit. A sweet headband with a buckle complete the look. Sasha is definitely Sweet and Sassy.

The light at the end of the tunnel: AKA redhead restore

Poor Sasha red haired dungarees started out quite rough around the edges. She has spent the last few weeks in the studio getting a whole new lease on life. She has had a hair washing and deep conditioning, oxy treatment, eye repaint. Her clothing has been restored and she has new reproduction sandals. She is very happy now. I gave her freckles because they really suit her personality. Now all she needs is a name.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! Here is my Sasha baby modeling my latest creation for the Valentine's Swap. This adorable outfit is on it's way to Sonya in Australia. It's super hot there this time of the year as opposed to the below zero temps we've seen here in Minnesota. The outfit consists of sundress, bloomers, beret, socks and leather mary jane shoes. It would be adorable with a little sweater, but I have yet to learn to knit with needles.
